Copyright
The photographs on this site are by Samet Durgun and may not be reproduced without permission. Image licensing explains how to ask. Installation views carry the credit of the photographer who made them, and that credit is part of any reuse.
Privacy
This site sets no cookies and embeds no advertising networks. It asks for no consent because it does nothing that would need it. What it does record is below.
Hosting
The pages are served by Firebase Hosting, a service of Google. To deliver a page, the server processes what any web server needs: your IP address, the address of the page you asked for and the time. Google processes this on my behalf for delivery and security. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in running a website that works.
Analytics
I use two cookie-free measurements. Neither stores a personal identifier, sets anything in your browser or follows you to other sites.
- Plausible Analytics, by Plausible Insights OÜ, Väike-Paala 1, 11415 Tallinn, Estonia. It counts visits and which pages and referrers they come from, without cookies and without keeping IP addresses.
- PromptWatch, by Promptwatch B.V., Netherlands. Its script sends one request per page view with the page address, the referring site, your browser language and your timezone, and nothing else, so I can see which visits arrive from AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Perplexity. The data is stored in the EU without user-identifiable information.
Legal basis for both: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in knowing how the site is found. If you use a content blocker, both scripts are blocked by the usual lists and the site works the same.
Videos
Some pages hold a talk hosted on YouTube. The video loads only when you press play, from youtube-nocookie.com; until then nothing is sent to Google. Once you press play, YouTube's own privacy policy applies.
If you write to me, I keep your message to answer it and for as long as the conversation is useful. I pass it to nobody.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its processing. Given the above, the answer is usually that I hold your email and nothing else. You can also complain to a supervisory authority; for Berlin that is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
